So, y'all saw that last traditional piece that I uploaded
and that no onE COMMENTED ON and just wanted to say a few things.
First off, I'm debating offering pieces like those and bigger for commissions since I actually had a lot of fun doing it and I found out I love using colored pencils and doing lineless work again. They would be more expensive than the digital pieces I offer right now, since they take me almost twice as long, use a lot more materials (At least two pieces of paper (assuming I don't mess up the coloring), pencils, several different markers (thick and heavy lines are the only way for me to see what I'm coloring right now, so I use up my markers faster), and my colored pencils (which were like $10).
A few other things as well:
First off I'm looking into getting a lightbox so it's less me trying to see through paper without any help (i'm literally just eyeballing everything I do with the drawings I'm doing rn), which will make things look smoother and more consistent
and second, the finished piece would be mailed to y'all, assuming u live within the US - maybe Canada. And if someone actually got something from me, then I'd also offer to send the sketch, an inked version, or an inked and colored version along with the lineless. Of course, if you got it inked or colored it would be a little bit more since that's me having to basically re-color the entire piece, but w/ever. And you would have to cover shipping for the sketch and any extra, assuming you wanted them.
The last lineless piece I did took me roughly an hour and a half since I did it over two 43 minute class periods and one 19 minute advisory meeting. Given those and the minimum wage in my state at $7.50, and an extra $5.50 for the various supplies I had to use, the price would come to about $19.00! Of course, that's just for the simple headshot I posted, which had no background and a very short sketch process due to how often I draw the character featured in that piece, as well as being on a small piece of paper.
Obviously, various things will influence the outcome of the price, including the complication of the character involved, whether or not you want a background done, the size of the drawing and all of that lovely stuff.
Would anyone be interested in this kind of stuff? I have a lot of fun doing art like this and I'd love to make some money off of it if I had the chance!
